Ladies and Gentlemen,

I am honored to serve as President of the New York State Rifle & Pistol Association and as a member of the National Rifle Association Board of Directors, but I need your help to be re-elected and finish the work we have started in the Empire State.  This is a national election and I will be running against candidates from all over the county so every vote is important.  Your vote is important.

New York is the media capital of the world and as this state goes so goes the nation.  We have made progress.  Since 2000, we have stopped all anti-gun and anti-hunting legislation in Albany.  In 2002, we won the battle against Governor George Pataki and reinstated the shooting sports in the Empire State Games.  In 2004, we defeated proposed legislation for renewable statewide pistol licenses and increased fees.  In 2005, we were successful in passing legislation expanding the use of rifles for hunting in the Southern Tier and Western New York.  In 2006, we were successful in passing the first pro-gun legislation in 11 years allowing 14-20 year olds to practice and compete with handguns under supervision.  We have successfully elected pro-gun candidates to state and local offices and removed anti-gun incumbents.

Now is the time to turn things around.  NRA and NYSRPA, as the official State Affiliate, are going on the offensive.  In the coming months we will be proposing more pro-gun legislation and the repeal of onerous laws while expanding the right to concealed carry.

My support of the Second Amendment is absolute and non-negotiable.  I believe that every law-abiding citizen of the United States has the right to keep and bear the firearm of his or her choice wherever and whenever he or she chooses.
